Taking the first step towards fulfilling our financial commitment, we are proud to support UNICEF's Rise for Children's Education program. Our contribution aims to help students catch up on missed learning opportunities due to the challenges of COVID-19 and the economic downturn. We have provided them with stationery items and supported 12 schools in the Uva Province.
HNB Supports ICT students at the Miani Technical Institute, Thanamunai, Batticoloa, a charitable organization that operates an orphanage providing care for 100 underprivileged children.
HNB PLC has partnered with the Sasnaka Sansada Foundation, a government-registered charitable organization dedicated to youth development and entrepreneurial training across Sri Lanka. Through this collaboration, HNB will sponsor and support two of the Foundation’s flagship programs: the “Sisu Saviya” School Prefects’ Leadership Development Program and the “EntreGate” School Entrepreneurship Development Program.
HNB’s commitment to empowering the next generation is evident through its support of community development initiatives like this one. As part of the Yarl IT Hub project, HNB signed an MOU for seed funding to entrepreneurial clubs in 40 schools across the Northern region. This initiative offers students a unique opportunity to start their own small businesses and develop essential entrepreneurial skills while still in school.
