HNB’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Alles was honoured with the ‘Hall of Fame’ title for outstanding business leadership, by Colombo Leadership Academy, recently. The award was established to spotlight ground-breaking contributions by business luminaries who have demonstrated effective leadership in driving and sustaining high performance business cultures in their organizations. The prestigious award was handed over to Alles by Hon Harsha De Silva, Minister of Economic Reforms and Public Distribution.
Hall of Fame awardees were also acknowledged for demonstrating a commitment to supporting and mentoring their employees in driving exceptionally high performance. Winners were selected on the difference they have made to the lives of their subordinates by soliciting strategic input and diverse views from relevant stakeholders. Alles was among top leaders recognized as business superstars, for their exemplary success.
Jonathan Alles expressed his thoughts on being conferred the ‘Hall of Fame’ honour,- "I am humbled and delighted to be recognized in CLA’s Hall of Fame honour list. In the past year alone, the bank was plied with several awards and accolades, some of which were – HNB as one of the top 1000 Banks in the world by the prestigious Banker Magazine and the highest ranked local bank in this listing, best Retail Bank by the Asian Banker Magazine in addition to being declared Best SME Bank, Best Digital Bank and the Best Cash Management Bank in Sri Lanka at the AsiaMoney Awards. HNB was also named as the Best Corporate Cash Management Bank in Sri Lanka by EuroMoney in addition to being awarded Best Retail and Best Micro Finance Bank at the International Finance Awards in 2018. Recognized among the Most Admired Companies in Sri Lanka by the International Chamber of Commerce and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) was another feather in the cap.
